Rectangle - greatpiginthesty 2 days ago edited 2 days ago This is how my husband and I ended up with 3 cats. We knew we wanted one, knew we ought to get two so they had a companion, went to the shelter and there was a litter of three 12-week-old kittens that had been found and fostered together. Decided on the spot to take all 3. It's been a blast. Edited to add cat tax.

Human body - SkyScamall +2 - 2 days ago You're saying that but a rescue near me has nine or ten black cats that have to go to a new home as part of a pair. I'd take all of them as a group if I had the space and money.

Font - noputa +4 2 days ago my old cat came from a bad hoarding home. They told me she was one of the few survivors because she was super friendly towards humans. I wonder if she ever had a #2 that just didn't like humans and was sentenced to death because of some crazy person hoarding them in a terrible environment. Makes me so sad and mad

Human body - JustaRandomOldGuy · 2 days ago I got three new kittens that way. All from the same litter and abandoned at five weeks old. Two years later they are still close.

Rectangle - AndreaE4 +1 2 days ago This is how I ended up with 4 kittens in the span of two weeks. I went to adopt #2 kitten for #1 that was found by my house, #3 was a litter mate of #2 that was a surprise and when #4 was found a week later I just decided I needed an even number.

Smile - Idontevenknow31 2 days ago There's a special place in heaven for those who actually adopt a pair instead of saying they only went for one your BIL has a special heart and I'm happy he didn't split up the Siamese twins

Organism - Frognificent 2 days ago S . I adopted kittens who are pretty much the same. While they're not always literally on top of each other, if one is walking around and can't find the other one they start meowing and getting really anxious. Pancake, your sister is behind the curtain in the bedroom, where you left her asleep twenty minutes ago. She hasn't moved an inch.

Font - Unika0 2 days ago edited 2 days ago • Omg my two sisters do the same thing, one will wake up in the living room, scan around, not see her sister (that's sleeping in my bedroom) and start meowing frantically At that point the other wakes up and, begrudgely, goes to her sister Imao

Human body - shelbygeorge29 +3. 2 days ago Yay! Bonded pairs are the best, they bring so much joy! They often get split up and some cats are very traumatized by it. BIL must be a good dude!

Rectangle - Little JohnStone - 2 days ago We adopted a "bonded" pair, but they aren't - they're a pair that get along. We think they were marketed that way to increase the chance of getting the black cat a home. We were looking for two, either way, but I'm disappointed that they're not bonded.

Rectangle - StrangeCharmQuark +1 - 2 days ago IMO it's also easier to take care of a bonded pair than a single cat. It's not more work to feed two cats rather than one, or clean litter for two cats instead of one. But they play with each other, bathe each other, keep the other from getting bored, and it brings me joy to see them cuddle.

Font - JessterJo +1 2 days ago My shelter treats any pair of cats that come from the same home as bonded, because it's better to err on the side of caution and keep together two cats that just get along, than to split up a truly bonded pair. Sometimes after observing them in the adoption room we can tell that they would really be happier apart, but cats can also act very differently in the high stress environment of a shelter with lots of other cats, people and noise, and then when they get into
